Talat mahmood was born in Lucknow, India, on February 24 ,
1924. A famous singer and actor with silky voice famous for soft,
romantic, lyrical ghazals and has usually been described as
“Shahenshah-e-ghazal. He had been the first choice of the music directors
for romantic, slow and blue mood songs and sang almost 800 songs. His
first hit nonazal was “Tasveer teri dil mera behla na sakay gee” in 1944.
It's popularity was so phenomenal and unrivalled that even today it
remains one of the top selling non-film discs. Talat sang about 800 songs
in his long career. He passed away on 9th May 1998.
